Constellations and important features such as the Milky Way and Southern Cross are shown and explained with the help of a sky pointer so you know exactly where and what you are looking at.

Enjoy a relaxed yet informative tour combining historic and modern astronomy, myths and legends, all while gazing up into the crystal clear skies of Fiordland. Fiordland Astronomy's telescope brings the universe to life.

A maximum group size of 8 means personal service and plenty of viewing time through a powerful telescope. All guests receive their own set of binoculars for the duration of the excursion.

Digital Planetarium

Travel through the universe in a 360� digital theatre. This is a live presentation giving you the chance to ask questions as you are guided through the infinite vastness of space.

The show begins with a voyage through time itself where the focus is on the universe at large. You will learn about galaxies and meet the occupants of our own solar system. This is followed by a "sky tonight theme" where you learn about the unique southern sky with a focus on New Zealand. Constellations, planets and deep sky objects visible at sunset along with relevant myths and legends.
